2027 World Scout Jamboree in October 2026
What was public about the 2027 World Scout Jamboree on 24 October 2026: a registration letter from July, a Polish act signed on 9 October, and a host story from 23 October. This is not a live headcount, and it is not a seat.
Bravely Field Notes · worldscoutjamboree2027 · not the host
Unofficial on purpose
This chapter is not the Organising Committee, not ZHP, and not the World Organization of the Scout Movement. It does not use their emblems. It cannot hold a place, and it does not take a fee. A later page from the host, or from your National Scout Organization, replaces a line here.
What this chapter is for
The camp page says what the 2027 World Scout Jamboree is. The Poland guide is the place chapter. This page is the October 2026 reading of public updates that those two pages do not carry. When a number here disagrees with your contingent, follow the contingent.
The registration lines in the 3 July 2026 letter
On 3 July 2026 the World Organization of the Scout Movement and ZHP published a joint letter on readiness. It says the figures are as of early June 2026. It is not an October headcount. This notebook cannot see the registration system.
| Line, as printed | Number, as printed |
|---|---|
| People, the total the letter states | 42,950 |
| Contingents | 160 |
| Youth Participants and Adult Patrol Leaders | 32,270 |
| International Service Team members | 9,351 |
| Contingent Management Team | 1,337 |
The letter also says 160 Heads of Contingent had been appointed. The three role lines, 32,270 and 9,351 and 1,337, add to 42,958. The letter’s total is 42,950. This page does not correct either figure, and it does not decide whether the 160 contingents sit inside the people total.
The Poland guide already keeps the host’s planning sentences, which count different groups: up to 50,000, about 42,000, and nearly 43,000 from the July 2026 Heads of Contingent meeting. 42,950 is a registration snapshot from early June, not a replacement for those sentences.
What that letter said had moved
Registration Phase Two launched on 15 May 2026. The letter describes that as a shift from contingent-level planning to individual participant readiness. It says the platform then supported transport, accommodation, catering, medical information, visa preparation, and programme planning. This site cannot open that platform.
The letter says an International Service Team roles catalogue had been published for Heads of Contingent on the intranet, and that a volunteer platform was live for onboarding, e-learning, role allocation, and certification. The host also has a public roles page. This notebook has not compared the two, and it does not take volunteer applications. Bulletin 1 had scheduled job choice from 1 September 2026 to 1 December 2026. The Bulletin 3 news note says deadlines were updated and does not print the replacement dates.
The letter says site construction overall was at 30 percent, and that this was on track for that stage. That is the July letter’s figure, not a measurement from October. It says a market provider for participant food and a canteen operator for the International Service Team had been selected, and it does not print the company names. Infrastructure works and major tentage were still in procurement. It says supplier, fuel, and travel costs could affect the budget and the Solidarity Operation. The host site describes that operation as fundraising so Scouts can take part. This page has not read a total raised, and it does not take donations.
A first external audit in May 2026 assessed the host as broadly on track, and named procurement and risk ownership as follow-up. The letter schedules a follow-up audit in Gdańsk in October 2026. On 24 October 2026 this notebook had not found a public report of that visit on the host site or on treehouse.scout.org, so it invents no finding. The letter says no issue then threatened the event going ahead, and that transport, safeguarding, and remaining procurement still needed watching. It says indirect effects of the war in Ukraine remain a risk the host monitors with Polish authorities, and that the assessment then did not show a direct threat to the event. This page does not publish a travel warning. Each National Scout Organization decides whether to take part. The letter gives the address below for questions from organizations.
The letter’s address for National Scout Organizations. Not this notebook, and not a place request.
The Polish act signed on 9 October 2026
The host press office’s note of 21 October 2026 describes an act dated 18 September 2026 on special solutions for organizing the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland in 2027. It says the Sejm passed it that day, 411 votes for, 23 against, and no abstentions. It says the Senate adopted it without amendments on 24 September, and the President of Poland signed it on 9 October, which closed the legislative process.
The note says the act sets tasks for public administration and state services in security, medical care, and logistics. It says the act covers temporary camp infrastructure, including places to sleep, fire safety, and sanitary conditions; a medical security plan and emergency-notification staffing prepared by the Pomeranian voivode; the work of the services responsible for security; and checks on people working with underage participants. This page has not read the statute in the official journal, so it quotes no article and gives no journal number.
The note says preparations continue with the government, the City of Gdańsk, the services, and residents of Sobieszewo Island, where the camp will stand. It quotes the executive director of the organising committee, hm. Karol Gzyl, on government support, the parliamentary vote, and the signature as a shared aim. The note is the host’s. It is not a visa rule and not a fee.
Works on Sobieszewo Island, 30 October 2026
On 29 October 2026 the City of Gdańsk held an information session for residents of Wyspa Sobieszewska about the 2027 World Scout Jamboree, and published a summary the next day. It says residents asked about life around the camp, traffic on the island, and current challenges. The note is about the city’s own works on the island. It is not a description of camp facilities, and it is not a traffic notice for contingents.
The city note says work on ul. Turystyczna is on schedule on one side of the street, with a switch to the other side planned for mid-November, and that work on ul. Lazurowa, with temporary traffic arrangements, is planned to start in early November. A tender to resurface and re-insulate the Sobieszewo bridge is planned to be announced in November, with the works planned for spring 2027. The city says the final schedule will be confirmed once a contractor is chosen.
On water and sewage, the note says the 6.66 km Miałki Szlak–Zagroble water main is finished, the pumping station at the Sobieszewo water intake is about 70 percent built, and the water network in ul. Lazurowa about 90 percent. The pressure pipeline to the Wschód wastewater plant is about 60 percent through its first stage, with work on the second stage starting that month, and the sewage works are planned to end by the end of 2026. The note also says work is starting on a public safety and order plan for the camp, under the act above. These are the city’s figures as of 30 October 2026, not measurements by this notebook.
Polish troop leaders, and the word troop
On 23 October 2026 the host published a story about the Polish contingent. It says troop leaders and members of that contingent’s management team met in Warsaw the previous weekend. It does not name the calendar days. It says each Jamboree troop consists of four patrols, and that troop leaders prepare those patrols before and during the camp. The weekend was the Polish contingent’s own leaders. The story does not say a Hong Kong or Taiwan patrol has changed.
The joining page on this site, reading Bulletin 1 and Jamboree 101, already says four patrols make a unit, and it does not invent a title for the person who coordinates them. The 23 October story is the first host page this notebook has read that uses the word troop for that unit, and Troop Leader for that job. Both wordings stay. The Scouts of China notice of 1 September 2025 describes a patrol as one leader and nine Scouts. That is the smaller unit, not the four-patrol troop. Ask your association which unit you are in, and what it calls the job.
A communications forum in Gdańsk, 30 September–4 October
The host’s story dated 6 October 2026 says Gdańsk welcomed 65 Scout communicators from 28 countries for the European Scout Region’s Communications Forum, from 30 September to 4 October 2026. It says the forum focused on crisis communication and on preparing to communicate from the jamboree. Participants visited Sobieszewo Island. The story calls the site a future temporary home for 50,000 Scouts. That capacity line is the story’s. It is not the June registration total.
The story says members of the jamboree communications department led a workshop, and that the department met representatives of the World Organization of the Scout Movement about communication planning and about support for national contingents’ own communication. It is not a participant programme and not a registration window.
The committee’s next visit, March 2027
The September 2026 World Scout Committee highlights say the committee reviewed preparations with the Polish host, including key risks and mitigation, and that the committee’s next in-person meeting is 18–21 March 2027 in Gdańsk, to meet the host and review final preparations. That page does not print a new registration total.
What a family does with this
None of these numbers is a place you can claim on worldscoutjamboree2027. Ask your National Scout Organization. In Hong Kong that is the Scout Association of Hong Kong, and circular 08/2025 still lives on scout.org.hk. In Taiwan, the Scouts of China notices of 2025 are on the camp page, and a later association announcement wins. The place chapter stays the Poland guide. The days chapter stays separate. Bravely Field Notes is the notebook. The bare address is worldscoutjamboree2027.
Questions about October 2026
- How many people are registered for the 2027 World Scout Jamboree?
- The joint letter of 3 July 2026 says 42,950 people as of early June 2026, with 160 contingents, 32,270 youth participants and Adult Patrol Leaders, 9,351 International Service Team members, and 1,337 Contingent Management Team members. Those three role lines add to 42,958, not 42,950. The letter also says 160 Heads of Contingent were appointed. This is not an October headcount. worldscoutjamboree2027 cannot see the live register.
- Is 42,950 the same as nearly 43,000 or 50,000?
- No. The Poland guide keeps the host’s planning sentences, which count different groups: up to 50,000, about 42,000, and nearly 43,000 from the July 2026 Heads of Contingent meeting. 42,950 is the early June registration total in the 3 July letter. This page does not average them.
- What did Poland pass for the 2027 World Scout Jamboree?
- The host press note of 21 October 2026 describes an act dated 18 September 2026. It says the Sejm passed it 411 to 23, with no abstentions, the Senate adopted it without amendments on 24 September, and the President signed it on 9 October. The note describes tasks for security, medical care, logistics, temporary infrastructure, and checks on people working with underage participants. This page has not read the statute text.
- What is a troop at the 2027 World Scout Jamboree?
- The host’s story of 23 October 2026 says each Jamboree troop consists of four patrols. The joining page, reading Bulletin 1, calls that same grouping a unit and does not invent a title for its coordinator. The October story uses Troop Leader. Both wordings stay. A patrol of one leader and nine Scouts, as in the Scouts of China notice, is the smaller unit. Ask your association.
- Did the October 2026 audit publish a report?
- The 3 July letter schedules a follow-up external audit in Gdańsk in October 2026. On 24 October 2026 this notebook had not found a public report of that visit. It does not invent a finding. The May 2026 review, as the letter describes it, assessed the host as broadly on track.
- Where does this sit in the World Scout Jamboree 2027 Poland guide?
- This is the October 2026 chapter. The place chapter is the World Scout Jamboree 2027 Poland guide. The camp page is the 2027 World Scout Jamboree reference, and in Traditional Chinese that name is 世界童軍大露營 2027. Bravely Field Notes does not register participants.
Read on 24 October 2026 against the joint letter of 3 July 2026, the host press note of 21 October 2026, the host story of 23 October 2026, the host story of 6 October 2026, and the World Scout Committee highlights of September 2026. This page paraphrases them. A later host page wins. No audit outcome was invented. On 1 November 2026 this page also read the City of Gdańsk note of 30 October 2026 on the island works.
